Randy Wheeler
Randy Wheeler was born in Tulsa Ok. When he was a baby his family moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
At age six his parents bought a piano for his sister, Shari. He was pushing on the keys as it was brought into their house and for the next two years they slapped his hands to keep him off the piano and spanked his sister's for NOT playing the piano. (Just kidding about the slapping and spanking)
When Randy was eight his parents finally realized HE was the one to give the piano lessons and that was the beginning of his love for beautiful music. He would call his teacher and tell her to listen to him play and then set the receiver next to the piano. Her comment was that he should stop adding all those "extra notes" and he would say "but these are the notes I am hearing." He continued lessons through high school. He played for vocalists at his church and also sang in his high school chorale group and did some directing. After high school he had the opportunity to travel with a group, but at the same time his father became ill and he took over the family business as a necessity. The next 20 years he ran the company. During that time he did some composing and playing, but to no great extent.
In 2000 he and his wife, Joanne, moved to Sonoma, California. The piano came out of storage and an amplifier was purchased in 2001. The summer of 2006 a digital piano found it's way into their home and since that day forward, Randy has been writing, arranging and composing non-stop to his hearts delight. As he would say."This is what I was meant to do". With the addition of the digital piano Randy has realized that he can do his own instruments for his music. He also does the mastering of most of his songs with his new software. The learning curve in the last six months has been enormous, with more to come! We are very excited about the possibilities for the future of the musical side of our lives.
